Ayse is happily married and has two sons 12 and 7. She is originally a teacher, however along with thousands of other people in Turkey, she lost her job in 2016 due to the political unrest. Trying to find an alternative income first inspired her to learn to create handmade jewellery.
Ayse's jewelry making journey began when she attended a course that was provided by her local municipality. It was there that she fell in love with jewelry making and hasn't looked back. Ayse is extremely proud of the fact that she can support her family in some small way. Although she is missing her teaching job, she says women are strong and always find a way to stand tall during any type of hardship.
